Just learned this morning that I won the Photo Blog of the Year award. This is, unarguably, a prestigous win for me!
I'm at a loss for words right now; not to mention that it's only the break of dawn and haven't had my coffee, yet. However, I promise to post a smarter response later on.

I am very happy you won this award since I feel you really, really deserve it. As Noemi said there is so much effort and love in all your entries.
Maybe it is not a 100% photo blog but your dedication to photography is present in almost all your entries.
The difference between your blog and mine is that you are a talented photographer AND a wonderful writer. I am just a photographer and a very lousy writer.
I am happy that I was not allowed to participate since I would have lost against you. Now at least my ego is not hurt! ;-)
Besides,now it is party time and YOU will have to pay for the bottom less San Migs for the whole blogging community! ;-)
Keep doing what you love and I am sure you will bag more awards and prizes.

I was rooting for you, Francesca; not because you've become a friend, but mainly because your candid posts about living in France and acclimating to a new culture (not to mention that you are obliged to learn French in the process) somewhat strikes a chord within me. I trust many of your readers earn much from your trials and tribulations, as well as with your joys and aspirations. Perhaps, next year you'll win the big salami :)

However, I did get an uncontrollable urge to call a travel agent and inquire about Disneyland (maybe in Tokyo) right after learning I won the award this morning ... hahaha!
I've a feeling Sonnie that we'll end up meeting in person quite sooner than we can imagine :) BTW, I also won a gift certificate from SM from my Manila Bulletin photo challenge win!

I, too, was very much surprised that my site was nominated under the photo blog category, Leny. But then again, since photographs are integral components of my entries, I figured those who nominated me and the judges who finally selected me as the winner, saw something I didn't.
ReplyDeleteSidney is a very good friend of mine and I do agree with you, his My Sari_Sari Store consistently feature fascinating photo essays. Regrettably, his being a Belgian national disqualified him for the PBA. However, Sidney is a finalist in the Photobloggies' Best Southeast Asian Photo Blog -- and I am rooting for him.
As for your bursting my bubble? Sorry, nothing doing.
How about just trashing your prejudice against us Pinoys and join us for a brew when we go out to celebrate. PBA is more to draw us together as bloggers, not separate us. There's enough anger out there. Let's work together as a global community to do good with whatever talent we have. Okay?
