Hi! I love going to art show in the park. It's more relaxing atmosphere than a museum. Thank's for taking me there w/out the jet-lag. I am so excited to see the booth of my old alma mater- U.P. Fine Arts. Salamat! Maraming salamat!

My pleasure, Ebb Tide :)

Actually, this art fair should have been, at least, a two-day affair instead of just one day.

Also, although it is fun to have it outdoors, an indoor facility would have been better because from 9am on, the searing sun could make it uncomfortable to walk around and browse through all those booths.

As you know, artworks aren't at all like those sale items at Wal-Mart in which the low price is the main impetus to grab an item and throw into a shopping cart. Artworks takes a bit more time and thought prior to making a purchase; hence a more comfortable setting would have been ideal.

I also wonder if the sun directly hitting those paintings do not damage them somehow.

One day affair lang ito, LAR -- last Saturday over at Makati. It was fun, but it should have been held for at least two days.

Thanks!

Perhaps, it's time to once again dabble in painting, Mimi :) Truly a wonderful collection they had in the fair. Incidentally, I lingered in INK's booth. Fine artists that group has!

Sayang, I missed this fair! I also prefer a more comfortable venue. Medyo mahirap ma-appreciate ang mga works of art when you're sweating at malapit na mag-expire ang deodorant mo! hahaha

Thanks for sharing the photos, S.E.

Wow, this is interesting! It's good that people are dabbling in art; you can hardly find people with such a talent.

(:

Hi Senor Enrique

Thanks for sharing this series of photos.

I was thinking the same thing-- when i saw in the photo that sunlight is directly hitting some of the paintings.

I would love one of those one of a kind dolls :)

I've been a bit busy with work and it is good to read up on my favorite blogs!

God bless,
Daisy

And a single day is really not enough to see all the good finds in this fair, Daisy. They should do a two-day event the next time.

Hi Romy,

Our fellow blogger Bernadette happens to be one of the founding members of INK, and I got to meet her last Saturday. Her artworks, Nut Art, is featured as the 10th photo.

Wish I could have spent more time with her and at the fair, but we had a lot more to cover on that day so everything seemed rushed for us as well.

There will be a next time, I'm sure :)

Hi Kyels!

Carlos Celdrean has recently blogged about Brett Debritz, travel writer of Australia's Courier Mail. Debritz has the following to say about Manila's arts scene:

"If you know where to go, and allow the time to get there, Manila has beautiful and safe public places, plenty of opportunities for a bargain buy, a vibrant night life and – and this was a pleasant surprise for me – a thriving visual arts scene."

This proves the abundance of Pinoy talents :)

It did turned out to be a bright sunny day, Sidney. However, by 11 am, the sun got a bit overwhelming. Next time, I will plan to spend more time to check out as much artworks as possible.

hi senor enrique! still in a slow internet cafe in Manila...:-(

It was a pleasure seeing you in the flesh! As a participant, I had no chance so much in checking out the other booths. Although I saw familiar faces and reunited with friends.

Very, very nice shots! My husband might be jealous because you have a very crisp picture of the coconuts---shhh! :-)

I was unable to get even a single item, G. Mirage, because I had my photo gear with me and still have a number of things to cover in other places that day. But I will wait for the next show in June and will plan to spend more time enjoying the fair.

Hi Bernadette!

It was a pleasure meeting you. I wish we had more time to hang around, but everything seemed rushed that day because we had other appointments to attend to on that day.

By the way, we were at your booth earlier but you were busy with talking to some people but Patti Laurel was able to talk to your colleagues at INK; she plans on featuring your group in her magazine :)
