I very much appreciate my articles and photos appearing on fellow bloggers' sites, popular broadsheets, and local broadcast news segments, but I would appreciate even more a request for permission first.
Thank you!

i loooooooooove your pictures,, makes me think of the olden times. and i especially like the 6th one, where the sunlight is reflected on the surface of the river. ^^

what's up in the fourth pic? is that like the station for the calesas?

Thanks, Carla!

Both pictures you picked out were taken from the northwest bank of the bridge, though on different days.

I, too, was very much suprised to have seen so many calesas that day parked on that side of the street -- a sight I've never seen before. This part of the bridge also happens to be a favorite spot for kids who enjoy taking a dip at the Pasig River, especially during the hot days.

Pictures in black and white are one of a kind, especially when it comes to places around Manila! Great shots, as always! :)

Beautiful, as usual! I was recently afforded a new perspective of Jones Bridge during a Binondo tour with Carlos Celdran. It was nice seeing the post office from across the river like that. And actually going under Jones bridge for the first time ever. :)

Many thanks, Lar. I have yet many more subjects to photograph within Manila alone, but I think I will allocate the weekends for doing so.

Hi Christine! When I took the North Bank tour with Carlos, it was so sunny and hot out that he probably thought it was best not to take us to the other side of the bridge. We wend to the museum at the Calvo Building and led us on the shady side of the street.

Eric, this is nostalgic for me. I remember always requesting my lola's driver to "please pass through Jones Bridge" and nagging him about it even if we were going somewhere not near Jones Bridge. :)

Hello Senor Enrique

Great photos! Amazing really! I've been a regular reader of yours now (well, since my last Manila visit in Dec06-Jan07. I actually found your blog via Carlos Celdran's (having attended one of his tours!). Your blog is just what I need to feel 'in touch' with Manila - having grown up in San Andres & Malate.

How come my holiday snaps didn't turn out anything like yours?? A trip to Manila isn't complete for me without visiting Quiapo, Divisoria etc..

March 07, 2007 9:20 AM

Blogger Señor Enrique said...

Hi Gracing!

Did you see the feature I did on San Andres? I was there one afternoon during Canon's Shoot & Run event, and my friend and I took the opportunity to venture into San Andres. It was fun!

Why? What happened to your shots? Have you posted any on your site? I'll visit in a bit. Yes ... without Divisoria and Quiapo, a Manila balikbayan trip doesn't seem complete.

Thanks, Gracing :)
