The World Press Photo is currently being shown here in Metro Manila as well, Photo Cache. The exhibition is moved from one mall to another so as to be seen by as many people as possible.

The poster-sized photographs are hung along the fence of the National Press Club at the foot of Jones Bridge.

Imagine my great surprise, Sidney when walking along towards Intramuros yesterday after lunch and suddenly coming across this exceptional press photo exhibit by our local lens men!

You have got to see it!

This is nice. Hope no one vandalizes the pics though.

I love the 'new look' of your avatar... :)

I wish they published a book along with the exhibition, Carla. I'll probably go back there and check it out once again. Great photos, indeed.

I agree, Sheilamarie! This way, many more people will chance upon seeing the exhibition and appreciate it.

senorE, that foto of the NPC building brought me back in time. that was one of the buildings that amazed me when i was younger. the spiral stairs in see thru glass. in those days, it was quite a site!

PPP is a prestigious group. I'm amazed to see that they kept their office in the same building after so many years. Are these photos of the "new breed"? I was just wondering if they have photos of Ed Santiago's peers displayed also.
Reading how you rave about the exhibit, I'm sure it it one great show of photographic display!

I wish I could post the individual shots that I took, DatuPanot, but out of courtesy I didn't. Better the locals actually stop by and appreciate the exhibition. As for those living abroad, it would really make sense for the PPP to create a website.

I'm surprised, Gita, that you didn't pursue architecture. UST has a fine department, right?

But yes, that is a really nice modern building. I wonder when it was built.

These are most probably works of the new breed, Noypetes, for none of the names you once shared with was credited to any photograph.

I will be going back to Intramuros this weekend (to say hello to Ed Santiago, actually, at FPPF). I will then stop by again and jot down the names of the lens men included in this exhibit and share them here so, come back to this site by Sunday to see their names.

Hello Enolamai!

Firstly, thank you very much for being a regular visitor to my blog! Truly appreciate it.

As for your question, the reason I used the pen name Senor Enrique was not at all to project an "ilustrado" image ... hehehe ... rather it was to remind all new visitors that the "senor" refers to an "old" man, or simply put, an "old geezer" ... hahaha!

The thing is, my writing style sometimes suggest an author of young age; therefore, the "senor" merely reminds that I'm no spring chicken, though still kinda hip ... hahaha :)

I will be celebrating my 55th birthday pretty soon! Old enough to be a "lolo," actually!

Cheers!

Eric
