By the way, I've had the coffee mug in the above photo for many years. I might soon replace it with a new one -- the coffee mug with the winning design from this competition.

"Young coffee aficionados and travellers, aged 16-30, are invited to submit designs for coffee mugs"
Why naman para sa youth lang. Oh, maybe they think old ones can't make good designs anymore coz of shaky hands from having drunk too much coffee in all the years. hehehe.- Sidney said...
I wonder who set the age limit on "youth" at age 30 ! :-(
Good you will be able to participate Eric. Bata pa.
Alas I am 31 years old already and will need to cut down on my coffee consumption! ;-)- Sidney said...
You know I am a Festival afficionado... when/where is this Philippine Coffee Festival?

You might want to check out YTRIP's site, Sidney, or get in touch with Clare, its executive director for the exact dates of this festival.

I don't think they meant any malice by setting the age parameter to within 16 and 30, Rhoda and Sidney.
I guess, since YTRIP is a youth-oriented endeavor geared to raising awareness about our local culture and tourism, they meant for this contest to attract the attention and participation of our youth. So folks, cut them some slack please and don't get too sensitive with the age issue ... hahaha!- Señor Enrique said...
Incidentally, Rhoda ... you might want to pass this on to Marco. Since he's into graphic design, he might be inspired enough to submit an entry or two! It should be fun :)

I am back and thanks for your comment on my blog while I was away. Yes, I had a wonderful artful trip to the Mediterranean. So much "art" to see, admire and digest. Wish, I can enter this mug design contest, but the age limit disqualified me. Anyway, good luck to the winner.

Welcome back from your trip, Ebb Tide. Glad to know you had an artful one :)
Prhaps, another art contest wil come our way soon.- cga said...
Hi Eric, thanks for posting this and for coming to ytrip's rescue :-)
The Philippine Coffee Festival runs from 12 - 28 October. A lot of activities are lined up to make this year's festival more fun and interactive.
There's really no malice intended on the age limit. We dont really define "youth" as age 16 - 30 (legally it's 15-35). This age set was just the initial idea for this round.
Hence... Watch out for round 2
:-)

My pleasure, Clare! This looks like a real fun competition and hopefully our fellow bloggers will pass the word around.
I will mention this at other forums as well :)- cga said...
and Im back!
We had so many requests to lift the age limit, so after some consultation we have decided to fully open the competition! We didnt expect this kind of response and it's great for the advocacy. The more support we get for Philippine coffee, the better.
I hope we would be able to see entries from Rhoda, Sidney, and Ebb Tide as well :-)
Have a great week, everyone!
Eric, our heartfelt thanks for all the support!
