Oh, wow! Love the second pic. I think Luneta is really a night park. Parang girl siya na sa araw looking fresh, pero sa gabi - gorgeous!

If I may ask, were you at the park from noon to dark, Eric? :)

Thanks, Lino. I was actually inspired by your night scenes of Washington, DC :)

I had my nephew help me carry my bag and tripod, and the park I saw last night was relatively a safe place.

I started at 6pm and left around 9pm. I parked near the restaurant row by the south side of Quirino Grandstand and there were quite a number of policemen and security guards all over the place.

On the morth side of the grandstand is the Manila Hotel wherein many political and social soirees are held so that entire area is almost always littered with security personnel. There's also the constant police patrolling of the area around the US Embassy along Roxas Blvd. so, I'd say the park is relatively safe.

This entire park will most probably get a lot more foot traffic once Ocean Park behind Quirino Grandstand opens early next year.

Thank you, Rhoda!

The park is really becoming a nice place because of the diligent upkeep by its staff. There are also some wonderful events that they present every now and then.

The daytime Luneta photo essay I took last Sunday; these were taken last night.

There were many people last night, Photo Cache -- students, families, lovers, chess players, and etc. I felt at ease walking round and shooting to my heart's delight :)

As I've said, I've a feeling the park will get more people once Ocean Park opens next year.

From Roxas Blvd or Bonifacio Drive to Taft Avenue is bautifully well-lit at nighht, Pusa. But going the opposite direction towards Quirino Grandstand is much too dark for me. It probably won't lit up until the opening of the Ocean Park. Then the whole of Luneta will once again be a wonderful place. day and night.

Grabe! I love the second photo best; it's really beautiful with the right exposure. Well done!

One of the regrets when I went to the Philippines was I did not lug my tripod with me (was traveling light) and I had to forgo night shots.

But it's nice seeing your shots Eric; they're wonderful.

(:

Your sub-title (Wish you were here) is really appropriate.
Iniinggit mo talaga kami.
But still, thanks to you for bringing the sight and sounds of The Philippines for all of us who can not make it there right now.
Dapat, malaki na utang sa iyo ng Department of Tourism for your very fine work and devotion.
(Just glad to hear also that there are some sort of security given by the PNP around that area).

Advance Happy Holidays to you and your family.

This is my holiday gift for all fellow Pinoys both here and abroad, Reyd -- the beautiful facet of our Manila :)

Yes, it was a pleasant and safe evening in Luneta on that night when I took these photographs.

Wishing you and your family Peace and Joy for this holiday season.

Many thanks, Kyels!

I wish for a nice and much lighter Manfrotto tripod which I can lug around with me anytime anywhere. I know when the time's right, the universe will provide me with one :)

Hapy holidays, Kyels!

The most ideal time to enjoy the park with your friends, Luna, would be from late afternoon to early evening during the weekends when many activities and families abound.

Thank you very much :)

Thanks, G. Mirage. Yes, this park is really getting better cared for, and there's plenty of security personnel and police presence at night :)
