MUNING'S LATEST BROOD
These are the two left from Muning's recent offspring. Not that I bag and dump them somewhere in Dasmarinas, Cavite, but Muning does a good job of disposing them on her own. You see, after nursing them for a few weeks, the kittens would disappear one by one until none is left.
As previously mentioned in my initial entry on Muning, I am more of a dog-lover and only had a pet cat once when I was a kid. She was fat and cuddly and looked very much like
Morris the Cat. Unfortunately, she got ran over by a cab. Hence, I don't miss Muning's kittens after they've all disappeared for good.
As for these remaining two kittens from the present batch, though now getting used to their presence and at times amused by their silly antics, I'm convinced they're bound to be distributed by Muning anytime soon. But until then, I might as well enjoy their existence and use them as my prime animal models.

said... Our Momma Cat also gave birth for the second time at the roof top and I'm wondering why until now I don't see any kitten. It's been over a month already. If she gave them away, well ... thanks to her...I'm relieved. :)

calico cats (the kittens in the last 3 photos) are predominantly females. i would say 95% of them are.

Wow! How on earth are you able to distinguish just by looking at the photographs, DP? Amazing!
Anyway, they're somewhere in hiding right now but as soon as I get the chance I will investigate, or as they say locally -- "do an ocular" -- to ascertain their gender.-

These are subjects Im missing a lot SenorE...though yesterday I saw a battered one on the streets, with eyes really badly wounded =( And I do not have my camera with me. Aint cats the most adorable photo subjects (for animals)? They were always my black and white subjects back then hehe.

Muning's kittens are all cute. Love the third photo. We have one stray cat in the compound that Fritz gazes at, and the stray cat gazes back at him. :D
My sister is a cat-lover. She used to feed all the stray cats in the neighborhood. She had pet cats named Julia and Cleopatra. An uncle in the province has about 40 cats. :D-

My family are cat lovers. We grew up with having about 11 cats coming around for their meals. Some of them stray, the others we keep adopting because cats are more prone to abuse than dogs. Well, up to now, my parents have tolerated having about nine cats in their yard. Their helper has a bleeding heart naman for orphaned kittens.
Here in the province, I know of a cat lady. We call her cat lady because she says she has 20 to 30 cats in her care. She is really something for the books. She told me that one of her cats even helped her win in the local lottery by giving her numbers (by writing it!). And with the winnings, she would buy food for the brood of orphaned cats. The "lucky" cat died eventually but that didn't stop this cat lady from caring for those unwanted cats around. Amazing story but true. I would see her cats "for the day" tag along with her to her vegetable stall---beautiful ones! So, just to help her out, I buy a veggie or two from her even if I think they're a bit overpriced...:-)-

At this tender age, G. Mirage, these kittens are very aloof and easily frightened. Hence, these images of them are more "decisive moment-type" shots taken from a certain distance.
I had a cocker spaniel that I took loads of photos of while he was growing up. It came to the point that as he realized I was about to take a picture of him, he would sit and look at the camera as if on cue. This he would do on his own while we were out in the streets or somewhere in the park, much to the delight of onlookers. He was a ham!-

Make sure that you train Fritz early enough so he won't ever get into chasing cats, Luna. Once against the wall, they tend to scratch the eyes of the pursuing dogs.
Your uncle had 40 cats? Whoa!-

Although I'm not a cat lover, Bernadette, I would never kick a cat as I have seen some folks do.
A cat helped the woman win the lottery? And some follow her to the market? Awesome!
But having 20 or more cats I find a bit overwhelming. We once had a neighbor when I was a kid who had that many cats. I didn't like passing by their house because of the offensive odor emanating from their rooftop from the cats' urine and feces.-

I don't know what the exact number is but my aunts' recent estimate is about 40. My uncle's frontyard is reminiscent of the movie "Sleepwalkers". LOL

That's how I find them almost every morning, Kyels. Since the morning can get a bit chilly these days, I guess, this is how these two kittens keep warm.

That's one big mystery, Mimi. I don't think she harms them or anything because she's very protective of her brood. I can only surmise that her purpose in life may be to distribute her offspring all over the entire neighborhood.
