ROSES ON TOP OF A CORRUGATED BOX
A rosy life definitely awaits the new American Idol. I was able to catch some of this season's shows, though sporadically, but have seen enough to be impressed by the talents of both finalists -- David Archuleta and David Cook.
However, as endearing as the young Archuleta has been throughout the entire season, many people reportedly appear to be putting their money on rocker David Cook. Oddmakers had given him a 74% chance to bag the title on the season finale on Thursday, May 22.
Be that as it may, regardless of who the final winner is, I'm sure both guys are already assured of an exciting life of fame and fortune.
Incidentally, the stories going around about David Archuleta's stage father as being boorish, remind me of child actor Macaulay Culkin's father and manager, Kit Culkin.
Interestingly, although fathers have been known to promote/manage their kids' career in show business or sports, the percentage of stage mothers overshadows that of the number of fathers. Some folks believe that stage parents are vicariously living out their own dreams through their children.
I very much appreciate my articles and photos appearing on fellow bloggers' sites, popular broadsheets, and local broadcast news segments, but I would appreciate even more a request for permission first.
Thank you!

Ay, AI! I've been following this Season since day one, to the consternation of my eldest son, the rocker Marco. "Duh, ma... I didn't know you were that fanatic." Haha! But this is just one of those moments when I allow myself to be. Other times, I'm not really much into following showbiz ongoings.
Initially, David Archuleta caught my eye, as the show progressed week after week, I just knew, David Cook had the IT. He is so versatile and so ripe for the title. He can go rock, ballad, pop, broadway - just anything. I was so touched when he sand "First time ever I saw your face", and his mom was standing, watching so intently, awww... I can just imagine if I also was in a show watching my own son rocking it on. Sorry, Eric, got carried away... hehehe.- said...
P.S.
That's quite an intriguing photo of roses on top of a box. I can imagine a dejected lover put it there. LOL!- armovil said...
Definitely one David will win in the Season finale of AI. I am rooting for the young David Archuleta but you know the American text voters have the last to say. Both David are good in singing different genre and they have forte too. But you are true it is David Cook who has the edge and angst to win the coveted title next week live here in California. What ever abangan na lang natin next week.

Interesting observations, Rhoda. Besides the versatility you speak of, I'd like to add that David Cook has a much wider appeal. Even if Archuleta wins it, if I were a record company executive, I'd much run after to sign Cook.
As for the photo, what caught my attention is the essence of roses --- they tend to retain their beauty regardless of where and how they're placed.- Señor Enrique said...
" ... but you know the American text voters have the last to say."
Hmmm ... this I doubt very much, Arlan. They may honor the text votes of viewers (incredible money-maker, by the way), but in the end, the producers have the ultimate power to decide who gets the title.- Señor Enrique said...
Going to the arena of entertainment is undoubtedly stressful, Mimi, but I'm sure, stage parents have a lot to contribute to their children's success, especially those kids who are overwhelmed by even the slightest hindrances.

Both Davids definitely have undisputed talent and charms, Cookie, and both guys, I'm sure, had already developed enough following to guarantee lucrative record and concert ticket sales. And if both played it right in the upcoming years, they're bound to become incredibly rich ... hehehe.

Many people agree with you, donG, but no one can be very sure at this point because both finalists are truly talented and charming. They definitely have the basic attributes that make a star.

Glad you're on board with the AI. You wanna know who I think will win? Here--

Aha! So you're a David Cook fan, eh, Photo Cache. :)
AI is truly a well put together show. Kudos to its producers and entire team!
By the way, with many Pinoys very much into dancing, I'm really surprised -- actually disappointed -- that they don't braodcast "Dancing with the Stars" here in the Philippines. I only see snippets of it -- like in a recent Larry King show on CNN.- said...
i have been following this show, too, since day one. i am kind of torn in between because i was also enamored when David A sang "Stand by Me & Love Me Tender" which sent shivers down my spine. conversely, David C's rendtion of "first time ever i saw your face" was fabulous and unforgettable. versatility wise though, David C has the edge. actually, i voted twice for David C last week (1 vote for "first time i ever saw your face, and one vote for "i don't want to miss a thing" while i only voted once for David A for his song, "Longer than."
who will win? depends on how well they perform in the Tuesday's finale because i can go either way.- Señor Enrique said...
They are both truly very good at what they do, Belle.
This is definitely going to be great season finale when they announce the winner this coming Thursday. I'll make sure I watch it :)- said...
I'm also glad that it's the two Davids who ended up in the finals. I'm rooting more for Archuleta though. But I wouldn't feel too bad if Cook wins. I'm pretty sure that they will both sell millions of records no matter who wins the title.
I'm also following Dancing with the Stars and rooting for Kristi Yamaguchi. :)- said...
David Archuleta is very talented but all of us at home are for David Cook because he surely knows his way around in terms of musical arrangement that suits his style. I was particularly touched when he sang "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face" with his mom standing, and when he gave a short tribute to his elementary music teacher, Mrs. Fredalyn Gentry, during his homecoming visit before the Final Two announcement. She recognized David C's unique talent at a very early age.
I didn't see any thorns in the roses' stems. I wonder if they were removed in the flower shop.- Señor Enrique said...
Now, that's one show I wish they were showing here locally as well, Irene -- Dancing with the Stars! I saw Yamaguchi and the other contenders at Larry King show the other day.
Yes, at this point the careers of both Davids are pretty much on track. I wish them both luck :)- Señor Enrique said...
Only saw this season's AI sporadically, Juleste. Regret to have missed that performance by Cook -- I love that song.
I think they've pretty much cleaned up these roses. They're part of a large arrangement.
