SOMEWHERE IN QUIAPO LAST WEEK
I very much appreciate my articles and photos appearing on fellow bloggers' sites, popular broadsheets, and local broadcast news segments, but I would appreciate even more a request for permission first.
Thank you!

They should make a law requiring all candidates to post a bond which will be forfeited and used to clean the walls and fences if the candidates- losers and winners - can't remove their ugly bills within 2 weeks after election day.
I always thought of Quiapo as a busy commercial area. :)- Amadeo said...
Having been in the old homeland for over 3 months, it feels like those shots could be in any big city, whether in Luzon, Visayas, or Mindanao.

the first picture makes me homesick. it's the typical apartments in manila before they had all those high rise.
continue featuring more of quiapo.- Señor Enrique said...
Hello Carla! How are you? Trust all's okay with you and the family.
These pictures depict some of the side streets of inner Quiapo I've ventured into last week after covering the fire on Arlegui Street. I thought I might as well walk around in some streets I haven't seen, yet.- Señor Enrique said...
You're right, Bugsy! I agree with you.
But just yesterday, along Recto, some MMDA people were cleaning up the walls of the abandoned Ever building -- ridding them of various posted bills, including painting the pillars of the structure.- Señor Enrique said...
And guess what, Amadeo? An old friend emailed to say that one of these photos reminded him of those haphazardly-built abodes in Por-au Prince in Haiti -- half-built in most cases ... hehehe.

I will, Photo Cache :)
One thing I find dismaying about Quiapo is its lack of decent apartments, although there's plenty of bed spaces and single rooms for rent. Actually, I wouldn't mind living in the area.
