MANILA BAY SUNSET - 9/15/06


I'd like to think that a beautiful sunset is God's way of saying "I love you and goodnight" to all His creatures, great and small.

But these pictures are my way of saying, "Have a wonderful and magical weekend everyone -- wherever you may be!"


Both pictures were taken this evening, September 15, 2006 at Baywalk, Roxas Boulevard, Manila.

    I used to tell someone something similar to your caption. It's about bridging distance, and I told him to look up me up in the sky. And there he'll find me...lol

    my thoughts exactly! sunsets are God's way of saying, "I've got a better day for you tomorrow." Hay, sunsets never fail to make me all sentimental. Missing Manila badly!

    I wish I could go back and visit Manila 70 years ago before the war--I'll bet it was wonderful. It's just so big, and smoggy and overdone now. Hard to believe that one used to be able to see across the bay not far from where Rizal was murdered. I read where he remarked on seeing how lovely Cavite looked as he was marched to the site of his death. There is no hint of the bay from those areas now. Progress! What a misnomer.

    From the turn of the century until WWII, Manila experienced its golden era (when the Americans took control from the Spanish). The guy who designed Chicago, Burnham, was the same guy commissioned to design Manila. I've seen some pictures of the city back then -- remarkable!

    very nice picture senor. i just love to walk along the bay.

    If I may add senor, Burnham even recommended to widen the roads of highway 54 because he is expecting a huge traffic volume after several years. Politicos never listened to his recommendation and that's the reason why we are experiencing horrible congestion now.

    Isn't a shame, Arquitecto Ronnie, that politicos sometimes hinder instead of encourage progress?
