Oh, oh. Here is another magazine that we might never get to see here in Bacolod City. There are a lot of magazines that I don't see around here even if we have two National Bookstore branches here. :(

Well deserved honor for a "touching" photograph.
A series of photographs or a photo essay on metroManila churches and the community around it maybe soon?- said...
Congrats Eric!
OT: Regarding the SB600, yes you can use it as off-camera slave.- Señor Enrique said...
This magazine is available at all branches of NBS, Bugsybee, but another photo mag, Digital Photographer Philippines are only at select branches, usually only at malls with more affluent customers.
But I'm surprised to know that Bacolod being a major and trendy city, wouldn't be in the distribution network of some glossy publications.- Señor Enrique said...
Many thanks, Noypetes!
That would be an interesting project -- Manila's houses of worship! Come to think of it, I haven't even been to the church in Tondo where they hold the annual feast of Sto. Nino. I'd definitely look into this idea of yours, Noypetes. Thanks!- Señor Enrique said...
Thank you, Ricky!
They just announced the new category for another upcoming issue. You better submit an entry or two! I believe it is about sports, and with your newly-acquired 300mm lens,I'm sure you'll have no problem with capturing some fast-paced sport action shots! Good luck!- said...
Hi Eric!
Congrats on your first photo printed on a glossy mag!
Good luck for next month's contest ;-)- Señor Enrique said...
Many thanks, Fernando of Shutter Box Philippines!

Wowow! CONGRATULATIONS!
You won again? (I start to be a bit jealous! ;-)
Soon you will need a bigger house to place all your awards and trophies!
I can't keep track of all the recognitions you already got this year!
Superb shot!
Keep up the good work, Eric!- Sidney said...
Just visited Shutter Box Philippines and I see there are a lot of exciting contests ahead!
Good luck! You are a sure winner! I put all my bets on you ! ;-)- Señor Enrique said...
I haven't really won all that much, Sidney ... hehehe ... so I'm still fine in my little hut :)
Thank you very much!- Señor Enrique said...
Wow!
I checked earlier but Fernando hasn't listed any of these information, yet. But the FotoFest in August is definitely enticing. I might sign up!
As for the other contests, lucky are those travelers life Ferdz with a catalogue of incredible Philippine landscapes! You should participate in these, too, Sidney!- said...
Congratulations Eric!
The photo did give a deep meaning to me. It's enlightening.

I have to agree with the judges here for giving you the price, the overall color, lighting and emotional impact of this photo is just superb!
Meron din palang ganyang contest ang IMag. And what a cover! Kakaiba.- sheilamarie said...

Thank you, Kyels! Glad to know the picture has meant something to you.

Yes they do, Ferdz, and I suggest that you become a member of its online forum.
As I've replied to Sidney, you may also want to check out the PAL photo contest and dig up some pics from your travels to submit!
Good luck and many thnaks!- Señor Enrique said...
Hi Sheilamarie. Thank you very much. Trust all is well with you and the little one :)

Eric, how careless of me! I don't know where the first line of my comment went but it was intended to congratulate you for that beautiful picture which reminded me of many, many Holy Weeks past!
You'd be surprised what you won't find in Bacolod. I am greatly disappointed with the two branches of NBS here and in fact, when I need a book very badly, I order it online from NBS (very good service!) or ask a relative to buy for me there and ship it here.- Señor Enrique said...
Thanks much, Bugsy!
I am really astonished about a fine photography magazine that is no more than 200pesos is not avaiable in Bacolod. I'm sure there are photography enthusiasts there as well.
BTW, there is another glossy photo mag, Digital Photographer Philippines which costs almost 300pesos. It is only available in stores/malls frequented by A and B markets only. NBS in university belt, San Lazaro, or Avenida Rizal is not even in their distribution web. I guess, with production and distribution costs in a niche market, they limit their costs and this is one way of doing it.- -= dave =- said...
Still on a roll Señor E! Congratulations :)
