ICE CREAM CASTLES IN THE AIR
Focal Length: 142mm, ISO: 100
White Balance: Cloudy
And feather canyons everywhere, I've looked at cloud that way.
But now they only block the sun, they rain and snow on everyone.
So many things I would have done but clouds got in my way.
I've looked at clouds from both sides now,
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall.
I really don't know clouds at all.

I like it when it's cloudy and the sun is not so hot!
You made me sing with this entry, Eric, making me forget this disgusting skin allergy! hehehe.- Sidney said...
SUPERB ! Look at that sky !
Looks like a painting!
Congratulations! One of you great shots!- Gita Asuncion said...

Love the sky, really beautiful, di ba?- Señor Enrique said...
Glad to have distracted you from what was ailing you, Rhoda. Trust you're feeling much better now.

Many thanks, Sidney :)

Di naman, Gita ... hahaha! Only a bit haggard, I guess.
Love his pic and didn't know what to post it with. And then suddenly that phrase came to mind, "ice cream castles in the air."- Señor Enrique said...
Thanks, Kyels!
Indeed, that is a great song by Joni Mitchell; a classic!- said...
Nice pic! It's depressing and soothing and strangely optimistic. All at the same time!

That's exactly how I felt about it, Baddie ... and that may be the reason why I was compelled to look at it often, and finally to post it.
Thanks, for your candid input :)- said...

btw, the club manila east is located in taytay rizal...- Señor Enrique said...

Pensive and beautiful!
Love the ocean! the horizon touching the playful clouds. I like JM:)
I guess everyone has their moment of being drawn by the ocean, to just be there and stand still :)- Señor Enrique said...
Or for those moments of reflections.
Thanks, Daisy :)- said...
When did you shoot this photo, I was there last tuesday with my pamangkins but I wasn't able to shoot the sunset, medyo gloomy ang panahon during that day.

Very serene and warm. Sarap pagmasdan. And I especially like the ideas of Ice Creams and castles as well. Combining all these just makes me smile. Hehe

This was actually taken the Sunday before last, Ricky, so you wouldn't have witnessed the similar twilight ... hehehe. However, I've uploaded this image to set up for posting as blog entry last Tuesday; therein may be the confusion :)

Thanks, Ferdz :)

It might have been just the time of day I had taken this picture, DatuPanot, which was taken around 4:30 pm.
Then agan, I've underexposed it by a couple of exposures and set the white balance to cloudy to give it a warm (orangy) effect :)
Many thanks!- Señor Enrique said...
Thank you, Photo Cache!

That's truly comparable to an Amorsolo painting. Except for the angle of the sailboat, if it was a local fishing boat with a bright "lampara" glowing from it, ayos na ayos! I like the pinoy colors captured in that photo. Suwerte niyo! you dont have to deal with Cibachrome and kodachrome films to capture colored images anymore.
- Señor Enrique said...
True, Noypetes, as those fishing boats in the provinces! Galing nga noon.
Yes, many Manilenyos might take for granted that we have one of the most incredible cloud formations and sunset colors.
Btw, off topic: I got the list of movie theaters we talked about. Will be posting it :)- -= dave =- said...
This has great dramatic effect! The cloud formation hints that rainy season is here again.

i just love pictures that show the sky, may it be cloudless or cloudy, sunrise or sunset. actually the sky was clear yesterday with a few wisps of clouds that look like an artist's brushstrokes on sunset. =)

Woww! One of my favorite! Very dramatic!
- Señor Enrique said...
Thank you, Dave. You're right, rain has started to make its way to Manila as of late.
- Señor Enrique said...
Hey Carla! Guess, you'll be coming home soon after a month or so of gallivanting in America, huh? Back to once again enjoy the sunsets of Manila Bay in person.

I had a feeling you might like this photo, LAR -- considering you're pretty much into beaches and seas. Many thanks

Awesome picture. And I love that song too. :)

i love this photo, eric. it's so peaceful and lovely to look at, like hand painting of God.
makes me wish i was on the sailboat. =)- Señor Enrique said...
Thanks, Irene.
That song was a big hit when I was a teenager in high school. Every time I hear it, I can't help but get nostalgic.- Señor Enrique said...
A similar scene occured once in Subic Bay while I was jet skiing, Sheilamarie. At one point it felt like it was beckoning me to "come home." I got suddenly scared and turned back towards the beach.
Goes to show that scenes like this can be so mesmerizing. As you said, it's like God's hand painting.- said...
Beautiful picture Eric! I also love that song by Joni Mitchell.
- Señor Enrique said...
Thank you very much, Toe!
I love that song, too. A big hit during my younger days :)- mgaputonimimi said...
parang painting! ang ganda!
- Señor Enrique said...
It does seem like a painting, doesn't it? Even Sidney said the same thing.
Thank you, Mimi!- said...
If the song BOTH SIDES NOW was cut on a single CD, this pic would have been the perfect cover :) Congrats Eric. The pic is beautiful.
- Señor Enrique said...
Many thanks, BW! Appreciate it :)

that would have easily sold as a cd cover.

Many thanks, too, Dine :)
