MAMA GOT BACKS
Here’s another human interest photo I’ve taken at the Aliwan Festival.
On this one, the sight of abundant skimpily-clad male butts probably drove this woman to tears. Whether they were tears of joy or of revulsion will, of course, remain a mystery, for I dared not inquire.
I submitted this picture, by the way, to Reuters and the PiPho/Photo.Net online photo contest under the amusing moments of the festival category.
Incidentally, it wasn’t until I was in New York, when I began hearing guys rating females’ behind and vice versa. Those of Afro-American and Afro/Latin origins almost always rank high in this regard. Filipinos, on the other hand, were often considered flat-butted, but we never cared much for this part of the human anatomy as being sexy anyway. That is, until I came back to Manila and heard my nephews and their friends rating their girlfriends’ bottom. Oh well, the power of Hollywood influence, I guess. Or was it hip-hop?

Thanks, DatuPanot!- said...
I like how her colors stood out here! Great capture. But I don't think she's crying or tearful though. I think she's wiping her sweat. Or just my version :D

I'd like to perceive she was driven to tears, Ferdz ... hehehe!

'Twas one of those stinging perspiration caused by pollutants emanating from "their behinds" and factor in humidity, she's in tears alright and pissed, hehe....cheers.

Eric, I couldn't stop laughing when I saw what drove the lady to "tears" LOL!
Loved the contrast of colors in the picture and the amusing story you wrote about it.
p.s.
so true what you said about the afro ladies having big portions of everything. The front and back bumpers are huge! LOL! I look like a walis ting-ting next to them.- said...
that sight is repeated in millions of households daily all over the country, women reduced to tears after the sight of butt naked men reminded them of thier long absent OFW partners.

Hahahahaha!
That was a good one, TrueBlue!!!- Señor Enrique said...
The comments had me laughing, Sheilamarie. Boy ... I surely could use a hearty laugh!
Yes, the contrast is quite outstanding on this one. Really glad I caught it in time.- Señor Enrique said...
Ooops! Now, I'm not sure whether to laugh or not on your comment, Leo, because it contained much bittersweet truth.
Sweet that they're able to provide a brighter future for the children, but bitter because of the separation involved. Incredibly tough on the kids as well.- kyels said...
It sure does look intriguing.
xD- Señor Enrique said...
Which one, Kyels? The woman's face or the guys' bottoms? Hahaha!

Eric, I have read all the comments here and I am surprised that everyone seems to be so focused on the lady wiping her tears, sweat or whatever, without seeing what I actually see in those skimpily clad males.
It seems to me, they are doing something simultaneously. Go figure! hehe.
Very interesting shot!- Señor Enrique said...
Rhoda, I think we're done with the river in Subic memoirs ... hahaha!
Some imagination you got, woman :)
Now, let's go back to the woman's tears, sweat, or whatever ... hehehe.- carlotta1924 said...

I guess, a hearty laugh now and then is truly good for the soul!- said...
Tears of joy or revulsion - that was a nice one eric. he he he. I am one of the few pinoys who has a big behind and I hated it and was so conscious of it when I was in my teens. :)

Had you grown up in America, Irene, you would've been considered one sexy young gal and hounded by these teens with raging hormones ... hehehe.

Genetics, of course, plays a good part in one's physical make-up.
I find it interesting therefore looking at my young grandkids growing up, since they are a motley group from mixed ethnicities, starting with us, the grandparents.- Señor Enrique said...
I bet they are a handsome group of grandkids, Amadeo!
I've always appreciated the offsprings of inter-racial marriages. Most, indeed, grow up with interesting and charming features. I used to have a tennis buddy in NYC whose mother is Tahitian and his father, French. Many girls at Central Park's tennis courts would swoon over him shamelessly ... hehehe.
