Wow! Very colorful pics! I like them a lot. :-)
Btw, I know this is off topic, but I hope rhodora (the one who commented above) can read this comment of mine. I visited her site and I tried to leave a comment but I was unable to. The comment was not allowed by the administrator. I also like visiting her blog. :-)- said...
Very nice shots! I was there also. :)

Festive and very colorful shots! It gives you a feeling of rejuvenation..well that is if you have to deal with the heat and election chaos in Manila.
The postwar houses built in Pasay. Those that are in gated compounds and high concrete fencing. That should be good for your next black and white series. A good photo essay on the post war architecture in Manila amongst the new condos sprouting all over the metropolis.- Daisy said...
Ang Galeng talaga. Sayang wala kami dun!
Tanong lang po pede po ba mag take ng picture yung hindi accredited photographer ng malapitan?- Sidney said...
You probably have the most exciting and colourful fiestas in the world. In fact there seems to be a Fiesta every day somewhere in the Philippines.
Those groups are so colourful and talented. I will never be bored to look at them!
Of course (but this was expected from you) you did a great job.
The first picture is just fantastic.
Those are in no way "static" pictures and I love the way you captured "movement" and "grace" here! Very lively!
I can feel your excitement in every picture!
I guess you lost some pounds after the photo shoot with Pacman and the Aliwan Fiesta. ;-)- said...
It sure does look like a lot of fun. Bakit nung nandiyan pa ako, wala naman yatang ganyang festival?

Thank God, indeed, Rhoda! Compared to the rainy day before, Saturday was simply glorious. A perfect day for such festival!

Thanks, Kyels!
Thanks, too, Ladybug!
By the way, just post a comment as usual and Rhoda will see it just the same, and will post your comment. The same happens with my comments to her entries.- Señor Enrique said...
Thanks, LAR. Too bad we didn't hook up. It was a fun event, wasn't it?

And had they not organized an Aliwan Festival here in Manila, Leo, God only knows if I'd ever witness such awesome street dancing by our various provincial troupes.

I was just lucky to have caught that shot, Carla! The people were screaming with delight as that little kid was swinging from up high ... hehehe!
Yes, make sure you check the Aliwan Festival date first before making any summer vacation plans.- Señor Enrique said...
This festival was truly a joyous respite from the election madness, Noypetes!
Sidney and I had spoken about doing architectural photographs, but the major hindrance was the horrible telephone and electrical cables all over the city that practically obscure the structures.- Señor Enrique said...
Basically, Daisy, there are certain areas where you will be designated only to certain spots to take pictures from.
But then again, in these situations, my main priority is to take good pics and I have no other option but act gutsy and do it.
Did you see my previous post entitled, "Photojournalism's Adrenalin Rush?"- Señor Enrique said...
Hahaha ... you should have seen me when I finally got a chance to sit down that evening after taking pictures the entire afternoon, Sidney, I could hardly stand up ... hahaha! Serious! This would be the only time I'd wish I were only in my twenties :)
I think photography makes me sometimes forget my physical limitations at this stage of my life ... hahaha.
Many thanks for your compliments!- Señor Enrique said...
If I weren't mistaken, Irene, this festival was only initiated a few years ago. Had it not been for FPPF and my fellow camera club members, I probably might not have heard of it, either.
- Señor Enrique said...
Thank you, Sheilamarie!
Yes, I think this will be a definite annual event. I suggest, if possible, that you guys time your summer vacation here in Pinas with this festival. It is really something else :)- Señor Enrique said...
Oh, Lino! Make sure you don't miss this next year. This is a must see and photograph event ... hehehe!
Btw, Baguio's Panagbenga was represented here :)- Photo Cache said...
very colorful. must have been a great event. glad they have these cultural events for free. something else to do. kudos to the organizers.
- Señor Enrique said...
Hi Photo Cache!
As more Metro Manilans and those from surrounding provinces know more about this event, I'm sure the annual crowd will only get bigger, and the show itself grander!
Yes, thanks to the organizers and sponsors for bringing much joy to the city!- said...
Oh man. this is what i missed?! aww.
- Señor Enrique said...
Regrettably, yes, Rick. You missed an awesome Manila festival. However, there is a next year :) Better not miss it.

THis is really Filipino spirit of fiestas.
Nice capture of movements and colors. Kudos again to you Senor!- Señor Enrique said...
Many thanks, A!. I was having so much fun taking pictures that I didn't realize how tired I was until that evening. When I sat down I didn't feel like getting up anymore ... hehehe. Lolo na talaga me... hahaha!
