Maganda pa rin kahit maraming basura na lumulutang. My sister's health went back to normal when my father always take her there daily before he goes to work in Escolta.
Natanggal yung hika ng sister ko. :) ~ But that was in the early fifties.- cacofonix said...
Love Manila Bay, couldn't get enough of it when I was there or Icebergs at Harbour Square for that matter...:).

My Tia Inez also used to take me to Luneta to enjoy the Manila Bay air because I was a sickly child, Reyd -- about the same time as when your dad used to take your sister there for a morning stroll. I sure hope that the bay hasn't lost its healing powers to date.

Iceberg's is still over there at Harbour Square, Cacofonix :) However, the eateries along Baywalk have all been torn down. Heard that a designated area in Intramuros will host a similar row of night spots and eateries instead -- sort of to revive the Walled City's night life. I think they ought to revive the daily cultural shows in the clamshell as when they did during the time of Dick Gordon as the tourism secretary.

You can't imagine how crazed I got, Carla, trying to get a parking spot along Roxas Boulevard so I could capture yesterday's sunset.
The weather was just glorious which we haven't had lately due to the rains. Luckily, I was able to take this photograph just before the sun finally disappeared in the horizon :)
Thanks, Carla!- Francesca said...

My kids love going to the baywalk. They can just sit on those walls and stare. Even at the junk below. Right now, they're misssing those dinosaurs which they removed last month. And that giant shark.
I have some baywalk pics but not nearly as nice as yours. However, I think models are a lot prettier than yours :)

In all honesty, 'coz of your blogsite, this certain desire, hunger and yearning to be back home was ignited within me. I left Maynila when I was 11, and am far too young to appreciate what I do now. Again thru your blogsite, certain yearnings are pacified, but the hunger n the thirsts continues to grow. ( that song by Asin, Bayan Ko, playing in my head) LOL. But don't get me wrong, this is not to put blame on u ; ) in fact just to let you know that I thank you for creating this desire to be back. Please keep up the great work that you re doing and more power to you Senor Enrique!

It's all right, Romy -- you can put the blame on me because I love teasing our fellow Pnoys now abroad with lovely pictures of old Manila ... hehehe!
Just the same, it's here waiting for you when you're ready to come home for a visit :)

You are so fortunate, Toe. Ah ... waking up to a view of a gorgeous sunrise or winding down from a busy day with a gorgeous sunset ... what more could you ask for?
