After some conflicting thoughts I decided to publish my 2008 pictures in my blog.
Ok. I put this in my 2009 agenda.

Love your photo of the local scene. The first photo caught amy interest - the man carrying a big cage w/ birds and the litte cages. I haven't seen a scene like that for so many years.

The pictures are very reminiscent of rustic scenes, in the faraway provinces many distant years ago. So hard to imagine that across town in the bustling streets of Makati is a skyline that can rival any in any first-world country.
I always note that commercial Makati is much cleaner than the mean streets of San Francisco.-

That would be exciting, Sidney, a photoshoot of the procession in next year's fiesta. And with Pusa, too!
By the way, I hope I'd have my D3 by that time as I had asked from the Black Nazarene yesterday :)

That scene, Ebb Tide will always remind me of Espiritu Santo Church (on Avenida Rizal and Tayuman Street) when I was a kid. There was a time when my father would buy me a bird after mass on Sundays until I had quite a collection of three big cages. I used to wake up in the morning to their chirping as if begging for their breakfasts :)

Or the newly-developed The Fort, Amadeo, in Taguig. Heard many companies are moving out of Makati because of its congested traffic.
Quiapo still has many old houses, but unfortunately, not every one is being maintained/restored as it should be. A lot has decayed due to neglect.-
said... What is in the little basket the girl was holding in her hand? A bird?

Yes, Kyels ... when you buy one of these maya birds, the vendor will put it inside this basket.

And some vendors even color the birds to make them look more attractive and exotic. As a kid, I knew they were colored, but I chose to think they were really beatiful wild birds. To a certain extent, that manner of thinking still stays with me to this day.

And they also paint chickss with vibrant colors. At first I was puzzled until my nephew told me thay paint chick here in the Philippines to attract the kids into buying them. Aren't those chemicals used to pain them with dangerous?

No fun in buying them; back in Bicol, I capture the chicks from the nest. Too sad this particular bird is meant only for the wild, they'd actually die in your hands.
