BEING A PART OF MANILA'S OFFICIAL WEBSITE
Many thanks to Manila.gov.ph, the official website of the City of Manila, for having picked my photo essay -- The 63rd Commemoration of the Battle for Manila.
I'm truly honored to see it featured quite prominently on its Historical and Heritage Commission page.
Maraming salamat po!

Thank you very much, Sidney, but I don't know about having the best blog about Manila.
I think it's exciting to see many of our fellow bloggers keep sharing their love for the city. I remember when I was still living in NYC, there was hardly anything about Manila. We should continue on documenting as much as we can about this historic city of ours.- Señor Enrique said...
Thank you, Bernadette!
It does seem like a shameless self-promotion, but it feels good that my love affair with the city is somehow recognized by the City of Manila, though online only. I wonder if the mayor will someday give me the ceremonial key to the city? ... hahaha.- Señor Enrique said...
Hi Tina! Thanks much :)

Congratulations Eric!
Inside joke - Hayan marunong na ako. Had to get my grandaughter to teach me.- Señor Enrique said...
Is that you, Pat, behind the name Lola? Hehehe. Thanks and congrats to you, too, for finally learning how to communicate with all of us!
By the way, there's this neighborhood in Quiapo that I frequent and do some street photography. And the little kids in the area call me Lolo ... hahaha!
That is because, "pinagmamano ko silang isa-isa sa akin," and they love doing it.- Señor Enrique said...
Thanks, Daisy!
If you're someone who happen to love Saturday Night Live, Monty Python & the Flying Circus, and David Letterman, to name a few, you'd see the sense of humor behind my Senor Enrique pseudonym, which I have to admit was also partly inspired by Parokya ni Edgar's "Mister Suave" -- the novelty song that dominated the airwaves when I fist came to Manila for a visit after a long absence.
Sadly, there were/are many locals offended by the term "Senor," equating it to an attempt to present an ilustrado image ... hahaha!
In NYC's hispanic communities, senor is just an ordinary term as mister; totally devoid of elitist connotation :)
Thank God for many other local folks like you, Daisy, who intuitively picks up the sense of humor behind my use of Senor Enrique.
Many thanks and God bless as well!- Señor Enrique said...
Many thanks, Photo Cache!
Incidentally, wished I were in San Francisco to cover the protest against the Olympic's torch bearer.- Señor Enrique said...
Hindi naman ako dating magaling, Pelotario -- gumagaling pa lamang ... hehehe!
Many thanks, primo :)- Señor Enrique said...

I'm fine, thanks for asking. 'been too busy at work, so busy and tired that it took my time to take photos, too, which is a bad thing =( But I learned my lessons now. And here I am, appreciating your stories and photos again :-)

You're still young enough to absorb the rigors of career marathons, Jervis, but you must stop and smell the coffee sometimes ... hehehe!
