GEARING UP FOR ALIWAN FIESTA 2008
Get your cameras ready, folks. Manila's largest and most colorful street dance festival -- Aliwan Fiesta 2008 -- is just around the corner.
The grand parade will take place on May 3, Saturday, traversing the length of Roxas Boulevard from the Quirino Grandstand, and culminating in front of Aliw Theatre in Star City at the CCP Complex in Pasay City.
And to add spice to this year's festivities, the Manila Broadcasting Company is mounting a photo contest -- “Sayaw, Padyak, Indak” -- which is open to both amateur and professional photographers, using digital or film-based cameras.
However, please note that all entries become the property of MBC, which may not bode well with many photography enthusiasts and professionals.
Nonetheless, the prizes are:
* P50,000 are at stake for the first prize winner.
* P25,000 going to second place.
* P10,000 for the third prize.
All entries -- printed in full color in 8x10 size -- should be submitted to:

MBC office at Sotto Street
CCP Complex, Pasay City
Deadline for submission of entries is on May 16, 2008 at 5 p.m. Complete details may be found on the MBC website at www.mbcradio.net

My pleasure :) You should cover this event. It's really incredible. The cream of the crop (festival street dancers) from various Philippine regions compete in this one major event.-

My friends in NYC's fashion industry once said that I'm color blind, Ebb Tide, and this may be the prime reason why I tend to favor incredibly vivid subjects such as in these photographs.
