AFTER CHURCH FOOD TRIP

said... Ah food trip sa Quiapo Church. How I miss my childhood days. Especially those steamed sweet corn on a stick. Must definitely swing by Quiapo this Christmas break.

is it simbang gabi na? is that an early morning shot, eric? Very nice! You really have a flair for composing buildings (in this case the Quiapo church) and the skies. I don't know how you do it!.. :-) or most good photographers I know too!
The lighting is quite distinctly early morning...and not evening.-

Yan'g mga larawan'g pam-pasko mo Eric ang talagang taga-tawag ng mga balikbayan sa tuwing ganitong panahon! Isa yan sa mga ikina-tutuwa naming mga kabataan "nuon".
Kapag bakasyo na sa pa-aralan tuwing sasapit ang tag-lamig at malapit ng mag-pasko, puyatan at tambayan hanggang madaling araw sabay tuloy sa simbahan, ika-apat o ika-limang oras ng umaga, sabay na rin ang bantay at pag-sunod sa mga magagandang dilag na kasama ng mga Lola o kaya mga magulang at "tsaperon" nila. Simbang gabi at pistahan sa kapaligiran ng simbahan sa tuwing sasapit ang ka-paskuhan ay isa sa mga tunay na kaugalian nating mga Pilipino.

Ay, naku, Pete! Mula Disyembre hanggang Febrero, daming mga balikbayan dito sa Manila dahil sa may kalamigan ang panahon.
Oo nga, ang simbang gabi ay sabik na hinihintay ng mga binata dahilan sa mga eksenang nabanggit mo ... hehehe.-

Hi Bernadette,
The top pic of Santa Cruz Church was taken a little after five in the afternoon, while Quiapo Church was around 6 pm.
I only had my point & shoot digicam with me so I was very limited in taking night shots.-

Lapit na simbang gabi diyan, I miss those bibingka at puto bungbong.... and remember those days that we are really not into the dawn mass but just to hangout with our love interests. Na kumpleto ko ang simbang gabi dahil sa aking kababata na hanggang ngayon ay very sexy pa.... grrrr...
Love those bagong lutong kastanyas. Here we only have those on the package from China. :lol:
