THE BEAUTY THAT IS MANILENYA
for beauty is God's handwriting -- a wayside sacrament.
Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower,
and thank God for it as a cup of blessing." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Truly, the beauty of a Filipina is incomparable. Ahem :)
She looks like a Bayanihan member. Is she?
In case you want to take pics of them, let me know. My lola was the executive director and another lola is still the costume director.- said...
Would you not rather say Manileño instead of Manilenyo?
Señor? ¿Qué te pasa?- said...
We all love beautiful things and people. It's undeniable. And of course, beauty is always in the eyes of the beholder.

There's something mystical with the Filipina.

Wow! Beautiful pic of a beautiful lady! The shot with the blurred background really brings out the beauty of the subject.

I might just take you up on it, Scrooch. Perhaps, we'll arrange it after you've returned from your New York vacation :) For now, have a wonderful and safe trip ... and bring back lots of pics :)
There's something even more endearing about the Tagalog way of writing it, Anonymous; not to mention that I cannot do that specific letter as you suggested :)
Many thanks everyone! Thought I'd remind you just how beautiful our Filipina women are! On second thought, there's really no need for a reminder :)- INKBLOTS said...

The picture shows a very beautiful woman, fair-skinned, exquisite high-bridged nose, and thin lips. And maybe, even deep-set eyes?
Sorry and not meaning to be a “wet blanket”, but she does not typify the more kayumanggi beautiful features of the Filipina. The ones we can find in the streets and public places of our cities and towns.
At the very least, the lady in the picture shows one of mixed ethnic origin, either European or other Asian cultures like Chinese.
But maybe, the typical Filipino/Filipina is now one of such mixed origins?
An indeed, Eric, the issue with the Spanish N, because one has to change the language of one's keyboard to be able to type it. I hate doing that.- said...
kung ganyan kaganda ang manilenya
e pano naman ako?

Senor Eric,
Nice pics. She's really a beauty.
A real stunner.- said...
I agree with Amadeo, yeah she's pretty in the picture, but it really doesn't portray a true natural beauty, she had way too much make-up. I still cannot understand why if Kayumanggi is supposed to be the true beautiful Filipina look, then why is it that Filipino women are so much into skin whitening and they are so scared of the sun!! i live overseas and am a Filipina and would have wished i had really brown skin, but because of my Spanish heritage that is not the case, but what i've noticed is how scared the Filipinas are of their brown skin, i personally think it's beautiful to be brown or beautiful to have just about any colour you where born with i guess. I just chanced this site and i truly enjoy it, keep up the great work, some wonderful photos you have.

ok sana kaso ang kapal ng make up.
