COOL JAZZ ON A BALMY EVENING
It was an evening made even more beautiful with wonderful live music.
JazzFest 2008 kicked off its malls tour last night under the tent over at Glorietta 3 Park. The superb lineup of local talents included the FEU Drum & Bugle Corps, Bob Aves Group, Executives Band, Gerard Salonga FILharmoniKA with Johnny Alegre, and Frank Woeste Trio.
The festivities continue tonight at Greenbelt with Kiss the Bride, Mixmatch, Blue Rats, Bembol Rockers, and Rockerman & the Rockerberries. The show starts at 8 p.m. Admission is free.
On Friday, March 8, the venue is Bonifacio High Street and will showcase Jewelmer Jazz Band, Henry Katindig Band, Jeannie Tiongco, Kearny, Socorro de Castro, Randy Ishikawa, Toti Fuentes, and Tillie Moreno. The performance will start at 6:45 p.m. Admission is free as well.

In my days senor, they had those free mini concerts at SM. I wonder if they still have this today.
Jazz fests are usually pricey; good you get them free.- DORIE PADUA said...
Hi Eric! I hope you still remember me! Nice to know that you are doing great and still continue your streetwalks. Perhaps, I can join you next time and take pictures too.
I totally forgot about this jazz festival. Thank you for posting info about it. Hopefully, I can go to Boni High Street to hear Tillie Moreno sing once again.- Señor Enrique said...
The music's great, Sidney. Only propblem is I don't enjoy staying out late at night anymore as I used to. Will have to just wait and check out late afternoon-early evening performances.

The mini SM concerts that I know of Photo Cache are mostly by recording artists. I think an American Idol winner recently performed at one of the local malls.
Yes, not too many local folks realize and take advantage of these free jazz performances. They have no idea what they're missing.- Señor Enrique said...
Hi Dorie!
How are you? Are you busy with wedding photography gigs? Yes, we have got to do some street/festival shoots again as with the Hidalgo Project.
Go check out the jazz concert tonight and take some pics :)
