THE PRO-ADMINISTRATION YOUTH CONTINGENT
About 50 or so members of the pro-administration group Kongreso ng Kabataan gathered at Mabuhay Rotunda at the Quezon City-Manila border to demonstrate their support for President Arroyo. There were some who camped out in the area from the previous night.
Tents were set up for their convenience, as well as a poster gallery which depicted senators Ma. Consuelo Madrigal, Panfilo Lacson, Manny Villar and Alan Cayetano as court jesters.
The young men of the group ran around the rotunda; gleefully waving their banners like members of a Chinese ballet. Their astonishing exuberance seemed fueled by a conviction that Pangulong Gloria is the president, while those opposition senators are not; thus, ongoing criticisms of Pangulong Gloria are simply rooted in seething jealousy.
The female supporters, on the other hand, appeared camera-shy and demure. But nonetheless, after some subtle prodding, one of them, a resident of Sampaloc, Manila, eventually voiced out her exasperation by the opposition's continued attacks on Pangulong Gloria. She pleaded for everyone to give peace a chance and asked all Filipinos to get along.
The spiffy-looking pro-administration spokesperson echoed the group's sentiments and suggested for all anti-Gloria politicians engaged in grandstanding and destabilization efforts to present their gripes in court, not in the Senate.

Panaderos said... Can't help but notice that the attendance in both pro and anti-administration rallies were kind of low. Protest fatigue perhaps on the part of the majority of our people?

On the contrary, Panaderos, though not organized as one single event, there's quite a number of both pro- and anti-rallies going on all over Metro Manila.
Personally, I think what's going on is a wonderful exercise of democracy. Having the ability to express one's opinion without facing possible arrest is indeed a blessing for all Filipinos.
Free speech and expression keeps democracy vibrant, I think.-

Surprisingly, many relatives and friends are flying over for the Lent season despite the rallies going on all over the country. But then again, they're mostly from North America in which protest rallies are a common phenomenon. I guess, they're used to civil unrest ... hehehe.-

Haha, the logistics appear to be well laid out. But attending some loud rally isn't exactly the style of most pro-admin or anti-opposition people.

Exactly. That's why you won't find the average pro-admin or anti-opposition in a rally. They're not the rallying type.
