ALEX IN BABY MAGAZINE
It was confirmed by an editorial staff member a couple of months ago that the photo and accompanying text from my blog entry "A Smile as Bright as Sunshine" was to be published in Baby magazine's March issue. I was to be sent a promotional copy, she added.
March came and went, and haven't received anything; hence, I forgot all about it. That is, until my nephew called to say that he had bought a copy, and offered to bring it over so I could see it. You see, it was his daughter Alexandra's photographs that I've taken and posted in that particular blog entry; one of which was published in Baby magazine.
He bought another copy to be put away for safe keeping. When Alex gets to be old enough, he plans to give it to her as a birthday gift. I shared his excitement. However, in my case, it was because this marked the first time that an entry from my blog was picked-up by a glossy magazine to be published.
It was featured under the heading, "How to take the best shot of babies."

Yes, she's walking now and getting to be quite "makulit" just like typical toddlers her age ... hehehe :)-

She's getting quite big and had recently started walking around unaided. She also tends to grab anything along her way and sometimes puts it in her mouth so, she really has to be be watched over.-

That's a very natural picture of your very cute apo (na po! :-D). Kasi what is the most cozy place for a baby to be but in the warmth of the arms of a doting adult! Nice warm tones too!-

After I've sent them an email inquiring about my promotional copy, I was told that they ran out and will wait for returns from which they will grab one to send to me ... hahaha!
Yes, a financial remuneration at this point would be a decent gesture on their part.-

You do write wonderful poetry! Wish I could.
Keep on posting samples of your work on your site and someone will surely take notice. You may even consider making one day of the week as the day to post a sample of your poetry on a regular basis. Also, join some online poetry clubs and invite them to check out your site.
Philippine Star, I think, also publishes poetry from those submitted by its readers. Check it out :)

Thank you very much! Yes, such features inspire me to home my skills because I realized that not only do I enjoy photography, but I also make some folks happy -- like the parents of Alex. And perhaps, Alex, too, someday when she's all grown up and sees this copy of the magazine :)-
